A talented multi-instrumentalist, Paul McCandless is best-known for his longtime association with Oregon and for the floating and reflective sounds that he achieves out of his unusual combination of instruments. McCandless played in Paul Winter's stripe the Winter Consort (1968-1973) and then (with Ralph Towner, Glen Moore, and Collin Walcott) he left the radical to form Oregon. McCandless is in the main associated with Oregon (which was operating on a parttime base in the 1990s), although he has too played and recorded with Gallery and Eberhard Weber and has light-emitting diode roger Sessions of his possess for Elektra, Landslide, and Windham Hill.
